Thai c.bank declares Thursday, Friday bank holidays

BANGKOK, May 19 (Reuters) - The Bank of Thailand declared Thursday and Friday would be bank holidays around the country for reaons of public safety and all Thai financial institutions will be closed, it said in a statement.

The stock market .SETI will also be closed on both days, the exchange said in a statement.

This follows a day of violence in Bangkok, with rioting and fires around the capital after troops stormed a protest encampment, forcing protest leaders to surrender but sparking clashes that killed at least four people.
