Terror plot against Britain
Terror plot against Britain thwarted by drone strike
An al-Qaeda plot to attack Britain in a Mumbai-style attack has been thwarted by a drone strike in Pakistan.
British Muslims training with al-Qaeda were planning an armed rampage through London as part of a terrorist spectacular aimed at European capitals, sources told the Daily Telegraph.
It is thought that the group was in the final stages of its preparations for attacks, thought to be on the capital cities of Britain, France and Germany
The plot was foiled after Western intelligence agencies, including MI6 and GCHQ, uncovered the plans by senior al-Qaeda operatives in the lawless tribal areas.
The CIA launched a series of attacks against militants in the area using unmanned Predator drones armed with Hellfire missiles.
A senior al-Qaeda commander from Egypt, was killed in North Waziristan, disrupting the planned attacks.

Bushehr delay
Iran announces new delays at Bushehr nuclear plant – but denies Stuxnet link
Iran said its troubled Bushehr nuclear power plant won't go on line for at least another three months, the latest delay for a plant that is the centerpiece of Iran's nuclear power program.
The announcement in August of the Russian-built Bushehr's imminent commissioning created alarm in some quarters, with some analysts saying the early stages of the plant's operation could produce fuel suitable for conversion into a nuclear weapon.
Since, there's been growing evidence of clandestine efforts to disrupt Iran's nuclear progress. In particular, some Internet security analysts say the Stuxnet virus, a sophisticated program apparently designed to disrupt the sort of Siemens software used to control processes at the plant, appeared to have been targeting Iran's nuclear sites.

Stuxnet "Myrtus" bilblical clue
In a Computer Worm, a Possible Biblical Clue
Deep inside the computer worm that some specialists suspect is aimed at slowing Iran’s race for a nuclear weapon lies what could be a fleeting reference to the Book of Esther, the Old Testament tale in which the Jews pre-empt a Persian plot to destroy them
That use of the word “Myrtus” — which can be read as an allusion to Esther — to name a file inside the code is one of several murky clues that have emerged as computer experts try to trace the origin and purpose of the rogue Stuxnet program, which seeks out a specific kind of command module for industrial equipment.
snip
There are many competing explanations for myrtus, which could simply signify myrtle, a plant important to many cultures in the region. But some security experts see the reference as a signature allusion to Esther, a clear warning in a mounting technological and psychological battle as Israel and its allies try to breach Tehran’s most heavily guarded project. Others doubt the Israelis were involved and say the word could have been inserted as deliberate misinformation, to implicate Israel.
“The Iranians are already paranoid about the fact that some of their scientists have defected and several of their secret nuclear sites have been revealed,” one former intelligence official who still works on Iran issues said recently. “Whatever the origin and purpose of Stuxnet, it ramps up the psychological pressure.”
So a calling card in the code could be part of a mind game, or sloppiness or whimsy from the coders.

US stuxnet copycat
U.S. power plants at risk of attack by computer worm like Stuxnet
A sophisticated worm designed to infiltrate industrial control systems could be used as a blueprint to sabotage machines that are critical to U.S. power plants, electrical grids and other infrastructure, experts are warning.
The discovery of Stuxnet, which some analysts have called the "malware of the century" because of its ability to damage or possibly destroy sensitive control systems, has served as a wake-up call to industry officials. Even though the worm has not yet been found in control systems in the United States, it could be only a matter of time before similar threats show up here.
"Quite honestly you've got a blueprint now," said Michael J. Assante, former chief security officer at the North American Electric Reliability Corporation, an industry body that sets standards to ensure the electricity supply. "A copycat may decide to emulate it, maybe to cause a pressure valve to open or close at the wrong time. You could cause damage, and the damage could be catastrophic."
Joe Weiss, an industrial control system security specialist and managing partner at Applied Control Solutions in Cupertino, Calif., said "the really scary part" about Stuxnet is its ability to determine what "physical process it wants to blow up." Said Weiss: "What this is, is essentially a cyber weapon."
snip
Stuxnet underscores the need to strengthen the defense of critical industrial systems, lawmakers say. "While industry attitudes and awareness have improved in the last few years, the same broken systems are in many cases still in place, leaving our nation vulnerable to attacks," said Rep. Jim Langevin (D-R.I.), who this week introduced legislation to allow the administration to regulate these critical systems and to expand the Department of Homeland Security's authority to enforce the rules.
Several weeks ago, a control system monitoring pressure in a natural gas pipeline in San Bruno, Calif., malfunctioned, resulting in an explosion and fire that killed eight people.
"This is what you could do unintentionally," said Weiss, the industrial control system security specialist. "Think about Stuxnet, where you could start doing things intentionally."

are they blaming a stuxnet copycat for the San Bruno, CA explosion? Think about Stuxnet!

this is looking like a psyop for more control of the net..false flag attack thru "cyber" means..
US has 'dragged the world in mud' says Ahmadinejad
TEHRAN — Iran's hardline President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad launched a vitriolic tirade against the United States and Israel on Sunday as he cast fresh doubt on the September 11 attacks, state media reported.
"They have such nerve to threaten us and say all options are on the table. May the undertaker take you, your tables... away as you have dragged the world in mud," Ahmadinejad was quoted as saying in a speech.
The United States and Israel accuse Iran of seeking nuclear weapons and have never ruled out a military strike to curb Tehran's atomic drive. Iran maintains its atomic programme has peaceful aims.
"We have hundreds of unanswered questions about the September 11 incident to which they should respond, and we will not back down on this," Ahmadinejad said in the speech marking the start of a housing project outside Tehran.
"If they claim 3,000 people were killed on September 11, they (the perpetrators) should be identified and executed.
"We will even help in their arrest provided they present evidence, but will not accept whatever Bush and Obama say," he said referring to former US president George W. Bush and his successor Barack Obama.
"Even the Americans themselves do not accept these claims, let alone other nations."

US to issue Terror warning
WASHINGTON — The State Department plans to caution Americans traveling in Europe to be vigilant because of heightened concerns about a potential al-Qaida terrorist attack aimed at U.S. citizens and Europeans. The travel alert expected to come out Sunday is for travelers' guidance, is general in nature and isn't intended to focus on any specific country, location or tourist sites, senior U.S. officials told The Associated Press. They spoke on condition of anonymity because no formal announcement had been made.

Hezbollah theme park
Hezbollah theme park: an attraction designed with terror in mind
Are you always searching for a roller coaster that will make your hair stand on end? Well, if you really want to scare yourself, skip the traditional amusement park rides and catch a flight out to Beirut. There's a "theme park" in town that will open your eyes wide and keep you looking over your shoulder.
Hezbollah has gotten into the Disney business.
Identified as a terrorist organization by the U.S. State Department, Hezbollah's new endeavor isn't doing a thing to change that perception. Called "Landmark for the Resistance," the theme park celebrates the group's military efforts against Israel. Enter the park, and you can wander among implements of mayhem and destruction, from tanks to machine guns ... and you can even get some photo ops of the kids with their fingers on the trigger!
Designed and built by Hezbollah, Landmark for the Resistance cost a mere $4 million, a pittance compared to what it would cost to get an attraction up here in the United States. So far, the park's been a success, one of the few in a country that has had trouble attracting tourists because of ... well ... Hezbollah.

NBC's Today Publicizes Hezbollah Theme Park
NBC's Today Publicizes Hezbollah Theme Park With No Critics, Unlike Pope Stories
snip
MATT LAUER: Now to an unlikely theme park opened by an even more unlikely group - Hezbollah. NBC's Stephanie Gosk is in Beirut, Lebanon with details on this. Stephanie, good morning to you.
STEPHANIE GOSK, Good morning, Matt. Well you know Lebanon is a beautiful place. You have the Mediterranean Sea, the mountains, a great climate, but we found an altogether different kind of tourist attraction. It's called The Landmark for the Resistance and it's an open air theme park dedicated to military victories against Israel. Three decades of destroyed Israeli tanks, guns and spent mortar rounds, carefully manicured and on permanent display for the first time.
Isa Farook's family came for the day. His youngest son could barely contain his excitement. The $4 million complex complete with triumphant music and life-size statues of guerrilla fighters was designed and built by Hezbollah - Lebanon's most dominant military force and political party, and according to the U.S. State Department, a terrorist organization largely funded by Iran. Charges our tour guide, Rami Hassan, a self-described Hezbollah supporter, denies.
snip
GOSK: Since the park opened in May, 500,000 tourists have poured in. For the Farooks a photo on the tank, a quick turn on the machine guns and of course, hats and T-shirts to take home. Hezbollah says they will soon expand, including a restaurant, a hotel and a cable car. It's an unlikely success. Most other tourist attractions in this country have suffered because of the near constant threat of armed conflict. Lebanon was home to some of the world's earliest civilizations. These ruins are thousands of years old but the country is now more defined by its modern wars, than its ancient history. Navigating through what used to be one of Hezbollah's hidden bunkers, Rami told me five of his friends had been killed in recent conflicts.
GOSK: Rami, how many wars have you lived through?
HASSAN: I've lived through the three main wars in-
GOSK: What years?
HASSAN: In 1993, in 1996 and 2006. We know that there's gonna be a war which is going to be more severe than the last one.
GOSK: A theme park built on hatred of Israel and on decades of war, teaching children that the fighting goes on. Since the last war between Lebanon and Israel ended in 2006, the United States has been aiding the Lebanese military, to try to curb Hezbollah's influence, particularly in the south. But the people that are visiting this theme park told us, that should another war break out, they believe that Hezbollah is still going to be their best protection. Matt?

Al Qaeda
‘I Am Proud To Be A Traitor To America,’ Boasts American Al Qaeda
The second issue of an English-language Al Qaeda magazine includes an article by an American jihadi in which he proclaims “I am proud to be a traitor” and instructions on how to mow down government workers on their lunch hour in Washington, D.C
snip
The online magazine is another example of the vast amount of propaganda floating on the Internet. Last year the FBI’s Directorate of Intelligence estimated that there were as many as 15,000 websites and web forums that were supportive of terrorist activities and that about 80 percent of those sites existed on U.S-based computer servers. US counterterrorism and intelligence analysts remain concerned about the spread of Internet propaganda and its ability to possibly incite violence.
Last month FBI Director Robert Mueller testified before Congress saying, “The Internet has expanded as a platform for spreading extremist propaganda, a tool for on-line recruiting and a medium for social networking with like-minded extremists. And this has contributed to the threat from homegrown radicalization in the United States.”
The Department of Homeland Security and the FBI issued an intelligence note after the first issue of “Inspire” was published online. DHS and the FBI noted they were concerned, “that the sophisticated, colloquial English-language magazine could appeal to certain Western individuals and inspire them to conduct attacks in the United States in the future.”
