Ginni Thomas
Virginia “Ginni” Thomas
Liberty Central – America’s Public Square. We Listen. We Inspire. We Activate…to secure the blessings of liberty.
In November of 2009, Virginia ‘Ginni’ Thomas founded Liberty Central, a 501(c)4 organization whose primary objective is to harness the power of citizen voices, inform everyday Americans with knowledge, and activate them to preserve liberty. Ginni recognized the need for our country to bridge the gap between our nation’s citizens and its Capitol and return to a government that adheres to our core Founding Principles – limited government, personal responsibility, individual liberty, free enterprise, and national security.

Clarence Thomas’ Supreme Conflict of Interest
Mrs. Thomas is back in hot water as founder of a new advocacy group called Liberty Central, which she describes as a bridge between the conservative political establishment and the anti-establishment Tea Party. “I’m getting to know the Tea Party groups,” she told Human Events magazine. “What I think I can bring to the table is a connective tissue between the new people and the old people.” Especially, she might have added, but didn’t have to, when your husband is an associate justice of the Supreme Court.
Now, no self-respecting liberal would demand that Ginni Thomas abandon her own professional career simply because her husband has a big-time job. Washington’s filled with congressional spouses who lobby, organize, or consult with major corporations and organizations. But most of them do so quietly.
Not Thomas. As head of Liberty Central, she’s adopted the Tea Party rhetoric, accusing President Obama of establishing a “hard left” government and leading the nation toward “tyranny.” On Fox News, she told Sean Hannity her mission was to fight “a massive power grab” in Washington. And the real challenge facing Americans today, she says, is whether we’re “self-governed or ruled; citizens or subjects.”
Most Washington spouses also do a better job of avoiding potential conflicts of interests. Thomas’ organization is a conflict-heavy minefield. Consider, for example, the questionnaire Liberty Central circulated to federal candidates seeking their endorsement. It includes the question: “Would you support repealing the Obama health-care bill, including the individual mandate?” Since several state attorneys-general have already filed lawsuits challenging the constitutionality of the individual mandate, that question will eventually be decided by the high court. Will Justice Thomas recuse himself?

Pope's visit
Will we be converted by the Pope’s visit?
Pope Benedict XVI faces a sceptical reception when he arrives for four-day trip to Britain next week. Cristina Odone wonders whether he can win over his critics
The visitor to the More Hall care home in Stroud, Gloucestershire, usually finds an oasis of pious tranquillity. But for some days now, the Benedictine nuns who run the home have been in a state of high excitement: two of the sisters have won tickets to Birmingham on September 19 to see Pope Benedict XVI. The beatification of Cardinal John Henry Newman will take place at Cofton Park and – “God willing” – Sister Elsy Poonoly and another nun will be there. “We are very pleased,” Sr Elsy tells me, “and very excited.”
Threats of a citizen’s arrest; protests from survivors of priestly abuse and the gay rights lobby; some spectacular organisational bungling on the part of the Catholic hierarchy in this country: nothing can dent the sheer joy felt by many of Britain’s four million Catholics at the prospect of seeing the Pope in their midst. In what must count as the annus horribilis of the Church, when every day seemed to bring fresh revelations of abuse by priests of their young charges, the Catholic faithful are hungry for reassurance. Apart from a miracle – Richard Dawkins’s Damascene conversion? Cardinal Newman, resurrected, fulminating at the next gathering of the British Humanist Association? – the papal visit, with its pomp and picnics, is the best means to restore hope and rekindle faith.

Muslims will become majority in Europe
Muslims will become majority in Europe, senior Vatican official warns
European Christians must have more children or face the prospect of the continent becoming Islamised, a senior Vatican official has said.
Italian Father Piero Gheddo said that the low birth rate among indigenous Europeans combined with an unprecedented wave of Muslim immigrants with large families could see Europe becoming dominated by Islam in the space of a few generations.
“The challenge must be taken seriously,” said Father Gheddo, of the Vatican’s Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions

Cardinal McCarrick: “I Cannot Say, ‘Don’t Embrace The Quran’”
Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, the Catholic archbishop emeritus of Washington, D.C., told CNSNews.com that if “someone sees the Gospel as the truth of God’s presence in our world, that person should embrace the Gospel.” He also said, however, “If a person sees the Quran as proof of God’s presence in the world, then I cannot say, ‘Don’t embrace the Quran.’”

Rev. Dr. Welton Gaddy, the President of Interfaith Alliance told CNSNews.com that a Muslim living in Saudi Arabia has the God-given right to convert to the Roman Catholic faith.

IMO It’s all about conversion and catholic education (to convert the youngsters). Seems there is a plan here with Muslims and the Catholic church. Note We had a muslim convert Easter 2009

Red Mass
Annual Red Mass to be celebrated Sept. 26
The Catholic Lawyers Guild of the Archdiocese of Boston will gather for the annual Red Mass for those involved in the legal profession at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 26 at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross. Cardinal Seán P. O'Malley will be the main celebrant.
A luncheon will follow at the Seaport Hotel in Boston featuring keynote speaker Helen Alvare. Alvare is a law professor at George Mason University, USCCB pro-life advisor and Vatican consultant.
"No one will fall asleep," said guild clerk Fran Hogan. "She's very alive."
Each year the guild gathers for Mass to ask the assistance of the Holy Spirit as the United States begins another legal year. The Supreme Court opens the first Monday of October.
"It's the celebration of the opening of court," said Catholic Lawyers Guild Vice-President Paul McNamara.
Historical records indicate that the first Red Mass was celebrated at the cathedral of Paris in 1245, and the tradition moved to England around 1310. English King Edward II began the tradition to bring together all the members of the bench and bar -- judges and lawyers -- to invoke the guidance of the Holy Spirit on the proceedings of the coming judicial year.

Anglo Irish Says 25 Billion-Euro Cost a `Pretty Good’ Estimate on Bailout
snip
Ireland has already pumped 22.9 billion euros into Anglo Irish, which was nationalized in January 2009. The government this week said it would split the bank in two and gave the financial regulator until next month to determine the final cost. Standard & Poor’s last month said the cost may eventually rise to 35 billion euros, a figure the bank has disputed.
