U.S. citizens are heading to Australia in small but growing numbers as near-10% unemployment at home drives more to look for jobs Down Under, where China's thirst for iron ore and energy is transforming the Pacific nation into an economic powerhouse.

ianadds, you are as always charming...
Sometimes I can afford to be somewhat rude as to quote gnomes: "Capital moves on the yield"!

Re: Introduction to Australian real estate
i read that this morning and was shocked..the hospital is on a hill and its compeltion date is 2011 not 2012..and now they have to fix 90k kms of roads in queensland..hmm
For example: Subscribers to our premium service, www.peoplenomics.com, will want to refer to Issue #445-A of March 6, 2010 for this seemingly prescient quote:
"Everyone once in a while a reader email, or a news tip, comes along which just screams for more follow-up because it fits with a lot of 'rumbles' being heard lately. That was the case this week when the following email arrived from Australia:
"hi George, keep it short, know you have tons to look at everyday? I just don't get it? my Husband is working on this huge project, in the first meetings the top management levels are informed the Government is building it for the 10,000 year flood and its not public knowledge. He looks around and hardly anyone bats an eyelid? The speaker looks my husband in the eye and sais yes , the last time Noah was involved? yes, That flood! 45 billion being spent on this one. His part is in Brisbane, Queensland ,yet many roads being rebuilt higher all over the state and many new motor way tunnels. The tunnels in Brisbane are what we believe will be the way to relay the big floods out to sea (too bad if your in it at the time is my guess) Examining the way they have built the new hospital, it appears that ships could dock there, no reason to be built that high. No photography is allowed and this is regulated strictly. Must be finished before 2012, but last few days they have suggested to speed up works and intend to work under floodlight around the clock. Now, thats just making me a bit more nervous. Maybe your right, 2012 has been moved forward? Feel free to ask for more info, he will send it over the weekend if so. I probably would have dismissed it as myth myself, but when you're on the payroll for the big event, well, it doesn't get more real than that? Are there Any projects over there reporting the same reason for big projects. Maybe they weren't meant to slip the truth into this meeting? Just reply simply: more info...and I will forward facts if your interested. The company is sworn to secrecy but he hasn't signed anything and sais he is willing to speak. Why should we be in the dark while they spend so much to safe guard the corporate structures? I really don't think we will get warnings on what they must already know is coming. yours..."

nice to hear you again ianadds
"a change in the RBA's policy direction" - what does it mean? - the direction we've run is not right, we will go opposite? "In flood we trust"?... - http://alturl.com/49i8d
imho, Australia is not key-player on the stage. RBA can do whatever it's allowed to do.

Re: Introduction to Australian real estate
your correct we are not a key player ukraine..but we do supply some important ingredients to the world
Re: Introduction to Australian real estate
Relatively speaking of course, Aussie Central bank does not interfere with the financial markets as much as the Federal Reserve. Hence Australian Dollar is an extremely good currency to speculate with. I usually take my cue from the Australian central bank and its financial markets..If Aussie depreciate vs the USD due to rising US interest, which means US stock market will tank..
I believe the events that we are witnessing have already occurred during the 1997 Asian financial crisis. Fed lowers interest rates for a very long period then reverse course rather unexpectedly. The violent seasawing action destroyed the asian economies up to a decade..

dear ianadds
Sorry, blah-blah-blah is not interesting and informative for me. The question is still active: "what fed is going to achieve by increasing interest rate?"
"In flood we trust" that's for seeker, I have no interest in these details.

Re: Introduction to Australian real estate
PPT is an expert that creates turbulence in the financial markets (economic warfare). They time their liquidation to create panic amongst the unsuspecting peasants..Raising the interest rates is just another excuse to liquidate their foreign equities at the most inappropriate time. Recent stock market crashes in Bangladesh, Egypt and among others is just a start..Oh I should bring my popcorn..
When banks raise their interest rates significantly, wise capitalists should dump their stocks and put them into CD..Hope that answers your questions.
